Chan-young Shin, CEO of NeuroVenti, lectures at the Yeongdeungpo Seonyu Library's "Unbreakable Heart by Addiction" humanities program

Since July, the Sunyu Library in Yeongdeungpo-gu has held an event under the theme of "The Unbreakable Heart of Addiction: For Everyone Confused Between Abuse and Addiction," a humanities program on the road, and invited Shin Chan-young, a professor at Konkuk University (CEO of NeuroVenti), the country's top authority on addiction, to give lectures from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 28th.

This event aims to explore addiction through an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses convergent perspectives such as humanities, society, and science under the theme of "addiction," which is a universal problem for humanity and is an issue in society as a whole. Through this lecture, participants can understand addiction in multiple ways by recognizing addiction in terms of historical context, causes from a social structure perspective, and brain science mechanisms instead of pessimism or fear of addiction.

This approach will promote a deeper understanding of the causes and mechanisms of addiction and will be an opportunity to explore effective management strategies for addiction without denying the essential dynamics of humans that the mind creates, such as fascination, affection, and indulgence, which can lead to addiction behavior, the library expected.
